As you have probably noticed, the forum has been found by spammers.

I've been deleting the accounts as they come in and placing permanent bans on the email accounts they use to register (for example, absolutely NO ONE can register with a .info email address).

Sadly, this is actually my fault. When I set this up, I forgot to replace the link to the forum software site with an image instead of the text (spammers search for that text to find forums to spam). It's now been replaced, and hopefully google will re-index us soon so that we drop off the spammer's radar.

Until then, I'll keep checking things and blowing away accounts as they come in (currently, the only ones that are joining in are using gmail accounts, and I don't want to ban all of gmail).

And yet more spammers!

I had to delete 7 more accounts this morning. Bejesus!!

And speaking of spammers....

There's either a hole in the current version of phpbb, or the spammers have a new tool. Either way, all the forums I host have been getting nailed by spam accounts. So, for the moment, this forum no longer accepts new accounts until I can figure out wtf is going on.

Oh... and I'm still alive.
